Amelia Island Fishing
Charter Fishing Expeditions from Amelia Island Create Lasting Memories for Friends & Families and Are a Great Way to Immerse Yourself in the Beautiful Florida Coastline and Waters of the Atlantic.
Fishermen can surf fish along the shoreline or they can wet their line from the mile-long
George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier which spans Nassau Sound. For those Explorers seeking
saltwater fishing tours off the coast of Amelia Island, we've compiled this directory of local
fishing charters and experienced charter fishing captains who know the waters and how and where to haul in the big catch. The warm climate means fishing season is pretty much year round, but local species of fish do vary by season; in the Winter and Spring you'll find Redfish, Trout and Black Drum; Summer weather brings Bull Redfish, Trout, Ladyfish, Jacks, Tarpon, Cobia and Sharks; Fall season brings Bull Redfish, Tarpon, Sharks, Trout, Jacks and Mangrove Snapper.
Fishing licenses are $17 per year for residents, or $79 for 5 years. Non-resident licenses are $17 for 3 days, $30 for 7 days and $47 for 1 year. Children under age 16 do not need a license. Visit the
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for information on fishing license requirements and places to purchase.
Surf fishing is possible along any of the island's 13 miles of
beaches. The old bridge at the south end of Amelia is a popular fishing spot, as well as the fishing pier at
Fort Clinch.
